DO YOU HAVE A SICK HAIR DRYER?
Is there something wrong with my hair-dryer?
WHY is my hair dryer burning my face?
If your hair dryer feels too hot, this is a sign you have a problem.
If your hair dryer shuts off in the middle of your blow dry, you have a problem.
If your hair dryer is smoking, you have a problem.
If your hair dryer smells like burnt hair, you have a problem.
The most important function of a hair dryer is to take air in from the back or sides of the hair-dryer, heat the air over a heating coil then force it out the front with or without a nozzle. Look at the back of your hair dryer is the filter clogged with dust, lint and debris. It suggests the hair dryer is choked, the air flow is reduced, heat gets hotter and hotter then just before it blows up it shuts off. This being a safety feature.
Remove the round disc filter dust cap from the back if it is removable, using a small bristle brush to remove the lint, dust and debris from the screen. If screen is removable, rinse with tap water then towel dry before replacing.
Clean it once a month for your hair-dryers best performance.
Over the years I have always said to clients," if I placed a plastic bag over your head you would heat up and shut off too.
